lame, probably.... compared to the marvel universe of powers on the show, most certainly. I think it's just not been developed fully. We saw how she was able to channel the synthesia while playing the cello in her apartment into a destructive wave of force. In time I imagine she'd become a deaf Dazzler, able to channel sound energy through manipulation of the colors. Goes with that ironic thing, deaf woman controlling sounds. Maybe she could make someone else mute by taing away their colors. Everyone else was fairly useless while they learned how to use their powers. She just needs a bit more time to expirement with it.
I dunno. I still think it would be cool, but I'm biased; I play the cello, too, so that aspect drew me in.
One thing that did stick out for me, though, is that when the deaf lady talked with Peter, she didn't sign as she talked. I've only limited exposure to deaf people, but all of them still signed when they talked, and one explained it as almost automatic thing because that's how they've been trained to communicate, like an extension of their mouth. Maybe a bit nit-picky, but at least she's over her self pity party and can start doing something more than play slow, one note tones on the piano. beside that, I haven't had a problem with her.
I'm interested in seeing what personality ends up coming out of Syler when he gets his body back. Will he just be the original, evil dude that's in Matt's head? Will he still have issues morphing back and forth between Nathan and himself? Or will there be some amalgation of the Gabriel personality that was growing and Syler's sociopath self. And which will lend itself to the storyline best.
