1.0 Mainsite - back to index
....1.1 Signing up & using your account
Although you can use the basic feature - watching videos on alluc.org - without registering, it provides a lot of privileges and uses, so I recommend everyone to sign up. Signing up is easy: click the Register Now button above the category-menu:

Now you have to enter a couple of details, make sure to use a real email-address, otherwise you won't receive your confirmation email! Also, do not forget to click the highlighted button to complete the registration!

If you used the sign up form correctly, this window should appear:

Your chosen username and email address are highlighted, so you can make sure your entered data is correct - if you notice a mistake, either email to support@alluc.org or simply re-register with a new username! In order to finish the registration process, you just have to click the according link in the registration mail you will receive. Important! Your email provider might classify emails from alluc.org as spam. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder or add registration@alluc.org to your contacts to avoid your activation link getting lost! If every went well, clicking on the confirmation link will forward you to the following screen:

You are now logged in and may enjoy all features of alluc.org! Have fun!

........1.1.1 Your profile - back to index
Well now that you're signed up, let's check out your profile!

Looks quite.. boring, huh? Luckily there are measures to spice it up!
First of all, let's get rid of that annoying black "no avatar" box! In order to do so, click on 'Edit profile' right below the category-menu"

There is more to editing your profile then changing your display picture, but for now let's focus on that. Just click on the highlighted button and choose an image from your harddrive. Don't worry about file sizes, if your picture exceeds the limits, it'll be resized automatically! To apply the changes, click the update button on the bottom of the edit profile menu. Yeah the bottom. You might need to scroll down for that. ;-) Clicking on the update profile button redirects you automatically to your profile overview, so let's check out our profile..

Hmm.. not bad for starters ;-)

.........1.1.2 Messages - back to index
There comes a time when you might want to contact other alluc members. May it be requesting a link for a show, saying thanks, or requesting help from me [-> Moon]! :-) For that very purpose we have a Personal Message System (PMs) which basically is an alluc-internal mailbox. First of, you need to find the one you want to write a message. There are basically 3 methods for that.
1. Using the Member Search

The member search is pretty self-explanatory. Click the Member Search Button in the navigation menu on the left, enter a username and chose from the results.
Clicking on any username in that list redirects you to the according profile. Click the "PM User" button next to the user avatar and scribble down whatever you want..
2. Clicking on the names next to the links (these names do indicate who submitted the link you are watching, by the way.. it doesn't hurt to say thank you once in a while ;-) ) or in the Top-Poster list

Yeah, as I said, click a name in any list, may it be a linklist, the topposter list, the search results or whatever. Clicking on an username redirects you to the according profile. Click the "PM User" button next to the user avatar and scribble down whatever you want..
3. If you know the name of the user you want to write to, the direct Messaging via the Message System in your profile.

The third method does not only grant you to write new messages to users, it also contains all messages you received ( "Inbox" ) and all the messages you sent ( "Outbox ). Writing a new message is possible via the "New Message"-Button (obviously
)

Just enter username & subject of the mail and scribble down whatever you want.. just like a real email! :-)
By the way! If you receive a message, the "Your Profile" Button in the left menu changes it's color. The figure in the brackets is the number of unread messages :-)

Have fun messaging!

.........1.1.3 The Shoutbox, the Watchlist & the About me feature - back to index
Remember your shiny new profile? It only has an avatar so far, but you should've noticed other features of your profile as well already ;-) As i promised, there is more to it!
The Shoutbox
Do you see that (presumably) empty box on the right of your profile? that's the shoutbox. Every registered user (including yourself) can leave so-called "shouts" in this box. Everybody can read these shouts - but in your own shoutbox you also have the exclusive right to delete unwanted shouts again
For starters, let's shout into our own profile:

...hehehe.. click save!

Tadaaaaa! Awesome isn't it? Happy shouting!
The Watchlist
This feature is especially useful for users that watch a lot of shows and can't keep track of where they stopped watching by themself
You probably already noticed the
-icon next to links? Clicking it adds the selected item to your personal watchlist! You can view your watchlist via your profile.

You can access the links in your watchlist directly, without having to search through the database first. Save your favorite movies in there, or just set up a list of yet-to-watch shows. It's your choice!
On a sidenote: By default, the watchlist is public - If you do not want others to see your watchlist, please change your privacy settings in your profile (Edit Profile).
The About me feature
This feature is the newest addition to the user profiles. It's purpose is to write a brief text about yourself, which movies you like, which links you can hunt, why you chose THAT avatar or why you hate school. It's all up to you! The only exception is: No URLs
.. You can edit that text in the Edit Profile Menu, which you should already know quite well..!
In the Edit Profile Menu, there is a big textbox on the bottom. Just type in your description, optimize the text with the BB-code text below the box & press update profile!

Now, that's cool, isn't it? I'm sure you can do better than me in your description!
(and in paint as well-.- )
